SUMMARY: BASIC SCAFFOLDING TICKET

This basic scaffolding course specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic scaffolding work.

Scaffolding work involves erecting, altering or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four metres.

This unit applies to scaffolding work involving:

  • modular or pre-fabricated scaffolds
  • cantilevered materials hoists with a maximum working load of 500 kg
  • ropes
  • gin wheels
  • safety nets and static lines
  • bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork).

Students will attain the practical application to perform intermediate scaffolding properly and will be able to:

  • Obtain and read information, including safe work method statements (SWMSs), required to ensure that activities are performed in compliance with workplace-specific and safe work requirements.
  • Obtain and read information required to ensure that equipment inspection, use, maintenance and storage complies with manufacturer requirements.
  • Identify required scaffold and associated equipment.
  • Calculate loads exerted on and by the scaffold and scaffolding equipment.
  • Establish required communication methods with relevant persons.
  • Select risk controls and equipment and fall protection, and check that it is working and fit for purpose.
  • Inspect scaffold and associated equipment for defects, and isolate, tag out, report and record defective items.
  • Ensure risk controls and safety measures and equipment have been put in place, including the fitting, adjusting and anchoring of fall protection equipment.
  • Prepare footings to support scaffold and scaffold equipment.
  • Prepare scaffold and scaffold equipment, and place in a stable position ready for erection.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffold and equipment while maintaining stability, in accordance with workplace and manufacturer requirements.
  • Erect and dismantle modular or pre-fabricated scaffold.
  • Erect and dismantle cantilevered materials hoists.
  • Apply methods for making temporary connections using fibre ropes.
  • Erect, operate and dismantle gin wheels.
  • Erect and dismantle safety nets and static lines.
  • Erect and dismantle bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years old and above
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Present photo I.D. on arrival
  • Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
  • Wear steel cap shoes/boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

INTERMEDIATE SCAFFOLDING TICKET CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of this Scaffolding Intermediate course students will be sent a digital copy (PDF) of a:

  • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.

One of the main eligibility criteria includes Reference and Project Details of 6 months of construction work in WA out of the past 12 months prior to your course commencement with Saferight. HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE

A Scaffolder needs a High-Risk working licence to be able to work in the industry. A High Risk Work Licence is a photographic licence, issued to people who have been trained and assessed as competent to work in a class of work defined as high-risk work.

Note: Saferight can process your High Risk Work Licence application if you’ve enrolled on a course with us. 

NEW HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE

If you wish for Saferight to assist and make arrangements for you from start to end, please make an online payment by clicking the week your training falls in. Your enrolment will then be attached to this additional request from you for us to prepare the necessary documents for your High Risk Work Licence.

After you’ve completed your training with us at and have been assessed by a WorkSafe Registered Assessor here at Saferight, we will go through the steps with you to complete all the necessary paperwork for your WorkSafe High Risk Licence.

If you are looking for the CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level training course in Perth, this is superseded by and is equivalent to the new training code CPCCLSF2001 which consists of the same Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding on a basic level.
