A) HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE – If you do not have a High Risk Work Licence yet

Your enrolment will then be attached to this additional request from you for us to prepare the necessary documents for your High Risk Work Licence.

After you’ve completed your training with us at and have been assessed by a WorkSafe Registered Assessor here at Saferight, we will go through the steps with you to complete all the necessary paperwork for your WorkSafe High Risk Licence.

B) HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE – Adding a new class to your current High Risk Work Licence

SUMMARY: INTERMEDIATE SCAFFOLDING TICKET

This Scaffolding Intermediate course specifies the outcomes required to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding at the Intermediate level which includes use and operation of Cantilevered crane-loading platforms, Cantilevered and spurred scaffolds, Barrow ramps and sloping platforms, perimeter safety screens and shutters Mast climbers, and tube and coupler scaffolds (including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries) for licensing purposes.

Students will attain the practical application to perform intermediate scaffolding properly and will be able to:

Plan task.

1.1

Review task instructions, consult with relevant persons to seek clarification as required, and obtain relevant workplace information.

1.2

Obtain and interpret information, including safe work method statements (SWMSs), required to ensure that activities are performed in compliance with workplace-specific and safe work requirements.

1.3

Obtain and interpret information required to ensure that equipment inspection, use, maintenance and storage complies with manufacturer requirements.

1.4

Identify workplace and task-specific hazards and determine required risk controls and safety measures and equipment, including signs and barricades, personal protective equipment (PPE), and fall prevention and fall arrest equipment.

1.5

Identify methods of moving and placing tools, equipment and materials to minimise the risk of falling objects, to avoid inappropriate carrying on ladders and to minimise hazardous manual tasks.

1.6

Identify required scaffold and associated equipment.

1.7

Calculate loads exerted on and by the scaffold and scaffolding equipment.

Establish required communication methods with relevant persons.

Select and inspect plant and equipment.

2.1

Select risk-control equipment, including fall prevention and fall arrest equipment, and check that it is working and fit for purpose.

Select and check PPE.

2.3

Inspect scaffold and associated equipment for defects, and isolate, tag out, report and record defective items.

Select communication equipment and check that it is working and fit for use.

Set up task.

3.1

Establish and maintain communication with relevant persons to ensure task plan and risk controls are communicated clearly, including any impact on other workplace activities.

3.2

Ensure risk controls and safety measures and equipment have been put in place, including the fitting, adjusting and anchoring of fall protection equipment.

3.3

Consult with relevant persons to ensure that ground and foundation have been assessed as suitable for task.

3.4

Prepare footings to support scaffold and scaffold equipment.

3.5

Prepare scaffold and scaffold equipment, and place in a stable position ready for erection.

Undertake intermediate scaffolding activities.

4.1

Erect and dismantle scaffold and equipment while maintaining stability, in accordance with workplace and manufacturer requirements.

4.2

Erect and dismantle cantilevered crane loading platforms.

4.3

Erect and dismantle cantilevered scaffolds.

4.4

Erect and dismantle spur scaffolds.

4.5

Erect and dismantle barrow ramps and sloping platforms.

4.6

Erect and dismantle scaffolding associated with perimeter safety screens or shutters.

4.7

Erect and dismantle mast climbing work platforms.

4.8

Erect tube and coupler scaffolds, including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries.

Complete task.

5.1

Remove excess materials from work area.

5.2

Inspect completed scaffolding task for compliance with task requirements, complete handover certificate and forward to relevant persons, and complete and attach scaffold tag.

5.3

Inspect scaffold and scaffold equipment for defects, and isolate, tag out and report defective items.

5.4

Store scaffold and scaffold equipment in accordance with workplace requirements.

5.5

Remove risk controls and safety measures and equipment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a valid Basic Scaffolding Licence (CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level)
  • Must be 18 years old and above
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Present photo I.D. on arrival
  • Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation
  • Wear steel cap shoes/boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

NATIONALLY-RECOGNISED INTERMEDIATE SCAFFOLDING TRAINING IN PERTH

This Intermediate Scaffolding course expects that the student has completed Level 1 of scaffolding training, has passed its verification of competency and has acquired its high-risk work licence on Basic Scaffolding. 

Intermediate Scaffolding is required to further an individual’s scaffolding abilities and qualifications to legally work in the construction, maintenance and utility industries. After learning the foundations and principles and acquiring skills in basic scaffolding, part 2 of Scaffolding training involves training to work on scaffolding in loading platforms as well as determining and reporting faulty scaffolding. Saferight is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code 5722) that conducts nationally accredited Intermediate Scaffolding training courses in Perth for groups and individuals seeking a Certificate III (Cert 3) in Scaffolding and other licences in the industry.

With a nationally-recognised Scaffolding Intermediate licence, individuals can safely work in high-risk industries not limited to the construction and utility trade. With a Cert 3 Scaffolding licence, you can apply to a diverse range of projects and environments that require the planning and construction of working platforms.
