Leadership: Being Proactive in Safety
Examine the fundamental principles for establishing a positive approach to safety in the organisation. Workers’ attitudes to health and safety in the workplace contribute greatly to accidents and injuries, many of which can be prevented with a proactive approach, so it is imperative that all workers understand the hierarchy of risk controls, key attitudes of safety, as well as how to lead by example, and much more. Leadership in safety means demonstrating and encouraging proactive attitudes towards controlling risks and proactively looking out for the safety of all members of the organisation.

- Key attitudes to safety
- The hierarchy of risk controls
- The chain of safety leadership
- Formal processes: Where do I fit in?
Completion of the theory assessment will take place online.
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Must have access to a computer with internet connection
This course will consist of short videos and reading material followed by multiple choice questions. This course is completed at your own pace and should take approximately 25 minutes.
On successful completion of this course students will be issued with a Certificate of Completion for Leadership: Being Proactive in Safety.
