WHAT IS A HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE?

A High Risk Work Licence is a photographic licence, issued to persons who have been trained and assessed as competent to work in a class of work defined as high-risk work.  The licence is valid for 5 years and is issued subject to identification checks and verification of age.  You must be at least 18 years of age before you can be issued with a High Risk Work Licence.

Your High Risk Work Licence expires every 5 years.  You must not carry out high risk work until your licence has been renewed.   

Once your licence has expired you must not carry out high risk work until you have renewed your high risk work licence with WorkSafe.

HOW DO I OBTAIN AN ADDITIONAL CLASS(ES) TO MY EXISTING HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE THROUGH SAFERIGHT?

If you already have an existing High Risk Work Licence for a particular class and wish to add on new class(es), Saferight can assist and make arrangements for you from start to end.

Please make an online payment by clicking the week your training falls in. Your enrolment will then be attached to this additional request from you for us to prepare the necessary documents.

After you’ve completed your training for your new class(es) with us at and have been assessed by a WorkSafe Registered Assessor here at Saferight, we will go through the steps with you to complete all the necessary paperwork for your new class(es) to be added to your existing WorkSafe High Risk Licence.

At Saferight, we will assist and make arrangements for you from start to end. We will prepare the following documents for you when you attend your training:

• A completed application form
• Notice of satisfactory assessment
• Statement of attainment
• Proof of identity
• A head and shoulders photograph taken within the last six months

If you have submitted a complete application which has been accepted for processing, you can continue to work in the class of high risk work that you have applied for while your application is being finalised.

Note: Saferight can process your High Risk Work Licence application if you’ve enrolled on a course with us.
