Saferight Offers Rescue Training in Perth

When a crisis unfolds at a worksite, it can feel like time slows down. This is a natural response to a surge in adrenaline, but the reality is that time is of the essence. In a few brief moments, the situation can go from bad to worse – to unspeakable. This is what makes rescue training in Perth so important.

At Saferight, we’re committed to helping our clients hone and improve their rescue skills to ensure they’re ready to respond at a moment’s notice. All of our rescue courses focus on a specific scenario – from conducting rescue operations at height to carrying out CPR following an accident involving low voltage panels. Participants learn how to assess high-risk scenarios, maintain and deploy equipment and communicate with emergency rescue teams.

Overview of Our Courses Covering Rescue Training in Perth

Here’s an overview of the rescue training courses we offer in Perth:

  • Introduction to Rope Rescue
This is an introductory course for those with little to no knowledge and experience in rope rescue. Participants will gain the skills and knowhow needed to perform a rope rescue. Once completed, participants will have a have a nationally recognised statement of attainment from Saferight.
  • Introduction to Rapid Response
This four-hour intro course is intended to teach the strategies and techniques required to recover a fallen or suspended worker. It will also enable participants to negotiate potential problems with suspension intolerance. Once they complete this course, participants will be able to demonstrate rapid response techniques and will receive a certificate of attendance.
  • Tower Rescue
Work at height is inherently dangerous, and all the more so when towers are involved. This course will train participants to perform tower rescue operations and provide emergency care when needed. Successful participants receive a nationally recognised certificate of attainment along with a wallet-sized card.
  • Confined Space Rescue
Rescue operations in confined spaces are complex and precarious. Successfully carrying out such an operation requires a specialist’s knowledge of the tools and techniques involved. The course covers a wide range of rescue situations that may be encountered in tight spaces. Several prerequisite courses must be completed in order to enrol on this course. It lasts half a day, and successful participants will receive a certificate of attainment.
  • Vertical Rescue
This course continues on from the previous rope rescue course. Participants will learn how to prepare for a vertical rescue as well as assess an incident scene and identify hazards. They’ll also learn to establish a vertical rescue system. This two-day course results in a certificate of attainment and wallet-sized card.
  • Low Voltage Rescue
This half-day course is intended for those who oversee teams carrying out electrical works and may be needed to conduct rescue operations from live low-voltage (LV) panels. Participants learn to assess and control hazards to victims and rescuers, alike. They also learn how to implement isolation procedures before performing a rescue. Applicants must complete a ‘fitness to complete training’ form, and successful participants receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment.
  • Low Voltage Rescue (Including CPR)
This course lasts a full day and covers the same material as the above-listed Low Voltage Rescue course. In addition to performing a low voltage rescue, participants will also learn to perform CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. They’ll be able to demonstrate two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult-sized and infant-sized mannequins.
  • Low Voltage Rescue and CPR (Refresher)
This half-day course is aimed specifically at those who have already completed the above Low Voltage Rescue course including CPR training. Industry standards recommend retraining every two years, and this course provides the necessary training to keep the participant refreshed and up to date on the latest relevant tactics and strategies.
