HARNESSES
Measures and with reference to falls from heights and suspension trauma, Saferight together with our industry partners, have reviewed the above product and believe that its “control measures” are no longer reasonable and practical regarding the identified risk of suspension trauma and fall distances/ground clearance requirements.
Saferight has discontinued the production of shock absorbing lanyards (Adjustable and Fixed) and suggested replacements are:
- Saferight Restraint Technique Lanyard
- Retracting Lanyards
- Inertia Reels
The Restraint Technique/Self-Recovery Lanyard is the highest level of protection with Restraint Technique as the form of Fall Protection and Work Positioning lanyards; following WA’s Work Health Safety Act 2020 and its Regulations 2022.
All Fall Arrest Systems used must be accompanied by a rescue and emergency plan which include the adjustable rope lanyards and fixed length lanyards. – Work Health Safety Regulations 2022, Reg 80 (1-4).
