Rail Bridge Maintenance
Saferight has recently completed the access and structural fixings modification of two new rail bridges that where installed and found non-conforming to the design requirements.
Saferight was engaged to remove and replace all nuts, spacers, washers and tensioning of all fixtures in accordance with the system design parameters – four days per bridge, with a team of four people. Not only was this task completed within a safe and efficient time line it was also completed with the following difficulties and considerations:
- Working over water
- Working within Aboriginal Heritage Zone
- Only one 30 minute isolation of the track was required per bridge prior to the start of the job. No delay in production/rail movement operations
This project was completed on time and within budget with no safety concerns raised by our client’s safety personnel as well as no impact on the heritage and environmental area or trace of our presence.
