Overview
The Monitor Hazardous Atmospheres course is a half day course aimed at ensuring the health and safety of personnel who have to undertake work activities within a hazardous atmosphere.

The course provides personnel with information on their responsibilities with regard to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mine Safety, Inspection Act and Duty of Care.

PRE-REQUISITES: An Operate Breathing Apparatus Certificate (PUAFIR207B - Operate Breathing Apparatus - Open Circuit).
CO-REQUISITE: PUATEA001B - Work in a Team

In a typical scenario an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace. The competency requires the person to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.

Please note that PUAFIR207A - Operate Breathing Apparatus is a pre-requisite unit and PUATEA001B - Work in a Team is a co-requisite unit.
