Overview

This course will demonstrate how various portable fire protection products are used in emergency situations. The course covers the use of a portable fire extinguisher, a fire hose reel and a fire blanket. All work in this area must be completed in accordance with relevant legislative, industry, customer and organisational requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.

 

The practical content of the course ensures that all attendees will actively participate in using a minimum of three listed portable fire fighting equipment. Training can be customised to suit individual workplace equipment.

 

On successful completion of this unit of competency, participants can complete other units to form industry skill sets or complete the related Certificate II in Asset Maintenance.

Note: If training is carried out on site, the client is responsible for travel and accommodation costs.

TRAINEE/INSTRUCTOR RATIO: Minimum 5:1 — Maximum 10:1

CLOTHING: Wear normal work clothing and safety boots. Please remove all jewellery prior to course.
