Overview

This course is aimed at ensuring the health and safety of participants who have to undertake work activities within a confined space as defined by AS 2865 : 2009.

The course provides participants with information on their responsibilities with regard to Duty of Care, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mine Safety and Inspection Act. It provides a guide to planning and entering confined spaces for employees and contractors by utilising the risk assessment process to identify hazards and applying the appropriate controls using the Hierarchy of Control. It informs persons of the requirements in rescue, training, isolation, ventilation, atmospheric testing, standby duties and entry permits to the confined space.

This course comprises an equal theory-practical component ensuring all participants actively participate in confined space entries. This course includes more extensive scenarios and Gas Test Atmosphere requirements.
