MSAPMPER300C—Issue Work Permits UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF BHPBIO HOT WORK LEVEL 2 COURSE

Overview

This course will enable participants who are required to supervise and issue hot work permits according to BHP Billiton Iron Ore Hot Work Procedure TRN-IHS-SAF-133.

 

PRE-REQUISITE:  Successful completion of - BHPBIO Perform Hot Work L2 to receive a Statement of Attainment to MSAPMPER300C—Issue Work Permits.

Key Outcomes

DEFINITIONS:
  • Reviewing the conditions under which the work will be undertaken.
  • Examining the site to determine the hazards and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring the appropriate permit is selected depending on workplace procedures.
  • Determining the appropriate conditions for the permit.
  • Raising, authorising and issuing the necessary permit.
  • Monitoring compliance with permit conditions.
  • Reporting any indiscretions or violations of permit conditions.
  • Managing the permit process, e.g. extensions
  • Signing off work permits on completion of work.

TRAINEE/INSTRUCTOR RATIO: Minimum 5:1 — Maximum 10:1

ON-SITE DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: Each site must ensure the following: Relevant workplace procedures and supporting documentation Suitable classroom Actual or simulated confined spaces.

CLOTHING: Wear normal work clothing and safety boots. Please remove all jewellery prior to course.
