Overview

This course is aimed at person(s) requiring the knowledge, skills and abilities to supervise work in a confined space and to use gas detection equipment for the testing and monitoring of potentially hazardous atmospheres.

 

PRE-REQUISITE: Satisfactory completion of - BHPBIO Confined Space Entrant/Standby Course. This course comprises an equal theory-practical component ensuring all participants actively participate in confined space entries.

DEFINITIONS:
  • Identify and monitor confined space permit conditions.
  • Monitor working under a confined space permit to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and action non-compliance with the permit.
  • Select and prepare equipment for gas testing.
  • Conduct gas testing and monitoring.
  • Carry out post-use checks and maintenance.

Note: If training is carried out on site, the client is responsible for travel and accommodation costs.

TRAINEE/INSTRUCTOR RATIO: Minimum 5:1 — Maximum 10:1

ON-SITE DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: Each site must ensure the following: Suitable classroom Actual or simulated confined spaces for practical session Gas testing equipment.

CLOTHING: Wear normal work clothing and safety boots. Please remove all jewellery prior to course.
