One of the principal changes to AS/NZS 1891.1 : 2007 is the use of belts alone is no longer specified for any purpose. The Standard specifies only full-body or lower-body harnesses for potential fall purposes. This means that a lower-body harness is the minimum requirement under the new Standard, (600mm) maximum. The new Miners Utility Belt Lower-Body Harness has a pouch at the rear of the belt which holds leg straps. The leg straps drop down when required to form a lower body harness which fully complies to AS/NZS 1891.1 : 2007. This provides not only a means of supporting the operator but also provides a safe, compliant option for the operator should he or she approach an unprotected edge. The Miners Utility Belt Lower-Body Harness is a simple, light weight, fully compliant, problem solving product. Historically Miners Utiity Belts have been plagued with fitting issues with the main catch due to corrosion and dirt being caught up in the buckle system. This has been overcome by the use of a new quick release adjustable buckle system.
